Bad Drop or Bad Pass

If you are an avid football fan like myself you enjoyed Sunday's NFL Super Bowl. Both teams played hard and it was a hard fought game. Like any football game that's played hard by both teams, the score was close and the game came down to which team could make the big play, or which team could give away a big play.
In the fourth quarter of Sunday's game, the New England Patriots had the ball up 15-17 with just under 5 minutes left in the game. They were ready for a fourth quarter drive to seal the deal in the game led by all-star QB Tom Brady. On a crucial second down in the drive, Brady dropped back and found a wide open Wes Welker, only for Welker to drop the pass. That dropped pass not only knocked the momentum out of the team but also became the deciding factor in the game. The Patriots punted the ball after and no gain on third down, and Eli Manning and the New York Giants won the game on then ensuing drive.
After the game ended the questions, speculations and comments started. Did Wes Welker lose the game for the Patriots?
In the two articles I read, the article by Bleacher Report blamed the game entirely on Wes Welker. Yes Welker is a great athlete and he has made that same catch many times for the Patriots. Yes he was wide open on the play. But as we all know, no one is perfect and that one drop did not necessarily lose the game for the Patriots. Did anyone forget the fact they did have one more down to pick up the first down. That one play did not decide the fate of the team. It did not make up the fact that the team did not do its job to be up by more points that two at that point in the game. The Patriot defense also had a chance to stop the Giants offense but it didn't.
The other article I read by ESPN told just the opposite in the situation. They acknowledged that fact he dropped the ball but also stated that the drop was not the lone factor in the loss. Though Welker put the entire loss on his shoulders not many on the team or press agreed with him. The Patriots did lose the game, but putting the loss on one man's back is not gonna make the situation better.

My Favorite Websites and Least Favorite Websites

When I want to read the latest news online the two most popular newspaper sites for me al.com, which is the state of Alabama's news website, and the nation wide popular paper USA Today.
I like al.com because of its local news and up to date events that are taking place here in the state. News from political issues to the latest on college and high school sports. The make up of the page is not my favorite but it is not difficult to navigate through the website.
When I want to read about news on a national level I like to visit the USA Today website. The site is made with a very easy way to navigate through and locate different sections of the paper with its color coated sections.
One newspaper website that I am not such a big fan of is the New York Times. While this newspaper is indeed popular across the nation, I find it mostly good for only reading about politics. The majority of the topics on the main page are about politics while other news events are given a smaller space.
One general website that is a favorite of mine is the ESPN website. Sports are a favorite of mine and ESPN is the "World wide leader in sports" so it only makes sense. They always put the biggest sports event on the main page and the rest of the main page is broken in to sections that's very easy to navigate through. I also like the poll question of the day located on the main page, which is always an interesting way to compare your views on a sports topic with other sports readers from across the country.
Last but not least, one website that I can't stand as of now is Twitter. Maybe it's because it hasn't grown on me or maybe it's just that I really don't understand the point of reading what somebody says they are doing every five minutes. I have an account on Twitter but I also have only 11 followers. I guess no one is interested in my very seldom tweets. I also find it hard to manage my tweets and re tweets and other various options on the site. The site really doesn't explain, at least not to me, how to use the different features and what each one does. Maybe one day I'll understand it, but as of now Twitter is my least favorite website the I use.
